All right, so, here is my third and final required thread.
The first two had nothing in particular about them, but I'll go ahead and use this third one as my new member thread.

A little history;
I started off on a little Honda 70 dirtbike, had an 80 as well as a few other dirtbikes I moved onto once I was old enough to ride them.
We had a 400EX as well as a Yamaha Blaster that we actually extended the frame on and put a 600rr (this was several years ago, so I am not 100% sure it was a 600, but I believe it was) engine into, left the sportsbike throttle and everything on it. That thing would fly at the dunes.
Sandrail and Sportsbikes as well as some Jet Ski's.

Starting in Freshman year I started racing streetbikes. 600rr that I helped build (I might have watched it be built more than built it myself, haha).
Went out on the track on a 1000 a couple times as well.

I just recently purchased a 1997 Honda Shadow 600 after going quite a few years on four wheels.
After purchasing I was actually hit a few days later making a turn through an intersection. Just some scrapes and a sore leg for me, but the bike has been down for a week now.
Feel free to look out for a thread with a few questions in regards to fixing it as I'm going to need some solid advice.
I may post a link to that thread once made.

Feel free to ask any questions or otherwise comment in here. I'll keep an eye on this one just in case.

Appreciate it.
Yeah, there's some differences.
This is my first cruiser, but from the few days I was on it I feel fairly comfortable on it.
I clearly need to be a little more aware than I was though. I knew that people don't see motorcycle riders as well, but I didn't expect to have anything happen so soon.
I plan on taking a course to brush up on some skills and hopefully get a little discount on insurance.

I may or may not have sent my reply as a message back to you?
If so, my apologies.
For anyone else who was curious, I agree there are some differences in riding, but I feel comfortable on it. I plan on taking a riding course to brush up on some skills I may have lost a little touch on and to possibly reduce the cost of insurance a little as well.

Glad you squeaked your way through that with the minimum of injuries...many are not so lucky! Hope you get your scoot fixed soon, plenty of people on this forum who may be able to help you get your bike up and mobile..

All the Best and Welcome to the Forum! ;)

Thanks everyone.
I'm glad I didn't get hurt too bad. I was able to jump up right after I hit the ground.
I was helped, but I was the main on to load/unload the bike in the truck as well, so I really was pretty lucky.
I don't know how fast they were when they hit me since I did see them turned a little and hopefully breaking just before we hit. However, afterwards I did hear them say multiple times that they didn't even see me, so I don't know exactly how much stopping they did (from a 45mph main road).

Welcome, yikes on the narrow escape (any crash you can walk away from...) intersections are about the worst, had a couple narrow misses and were all in intersections. The MSF basic course will help you out there.
