I put a aftermarket tank on my bike and was wondering about the vent on the gas tank. It came with a vent but was at the front of the tank. Can I just drill a hole in the tank and weld a nipple and use that as a vent or would it be safe to run the vent that came in the tank already?

Vent tubes on Honda tanks also have a tube on the inside of the tank that goes almost to the top of the tank on the inside. You cannot simply drill a hole and weld a nipple on it, it won't vent properly. Use the vent that is already on the tank if it works.

^^^^^^^ This is true. Since mine was shave and the pop up welded in I find i easy to over fill and leak a lot fuel until I plugged it. Course my cap is vented so no concern of the tank imploding due to pressure.
