I am going to do mine every 25k miles whether it needs it or not.

The K-N was the first mod I did when I bought my bike last year. Probably give it's first cleaning this summer after I hit 25,000 miles, maybe.
I have used K&N's for a long time and had good luck with them.

I use K&N in all my cars and bikes. Cleaning them to much is not god. They need a certain amount of use to be most effective, or so they say. I would go 40k at least. I would not rejett just for an air filter. Maybe if you did your pipes too.

I have one on my bike and in my truck.
I haven't cleaned the one in the bike yet, but I only have about 10k on that filter. Last time I checked it, it still looked new.
The truck, gets cleaned probably every 10 to 15k, just because it gets very dirty.
I think these are well worth the money. I can't say that I notice more power, but the throttle response is definately better.

Have it on 1993 Goldwing SE -- 130KMiles Stock pipes
1995 Ace 1100 -- 20+Kmiles Stock pipes
1998 Ace 750 Stock pipes

No rejet needed on any of them and no popping.
However, due to a screw up of my own, my 1995 Did get re-jetted when it sat all Summer one year (Work) and clogged the idle jets.
THAT DID make one heck of an improvement in acceleration! Like a different bike!!
