My bike only has 12,000 miles on it but it's leaking pretty bad from behind the water pump I'm assuming it's the o-ring. Can anybody give me a model number on that o-ring or do I have to buy the whole kit? Or can I actually just go to the hardware store and get an o-ring?
I would do every thing I can to make sure it is the water pump O ring since it is a very hard job to get it out.
There is a grommet on the side case where the harness from the stater goes that has leaked on some guys.
And a push rod for the clutch release has a seal.
And the small cover for the starter gears could be leaking.
And the shift shaft seal.
And the large guide plug has leaked on some models.
An old mechanic trick is to clean it off very well and throw baby powder on the area, and it will start to stain at the source of the leak. Gives you a good indication before it has run all over, and you can't tell where it is from.

Boy do I feel did l stupid.... It was leaking from the oil pressure sensor. When I changed it I didn't tighten it good enough. So instead of buying a new sensor socket I just customized one and notched it out to get around the kickstand sensor in the back it worked great but I didn't have the bike jacked up at the time so I wasn't able to tighten it all the way I guess this time I got it good though and it's not leaking anymore seems to be running ok. But definitely need some tuning.
That's what I am talking about !!!
Do extra diagnosis and you save yourself hours or work and expense that is not needed.
Good to hear of a happy ending.
