Heel/Toe Shifter

1022 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  big poppa pump
I just installed a MC Enterprises heel/toe shifter on my 2013 Shadow Aero. The installation went smoothly and I adjusted the toe shifter to allow my feet to rest on the floorboard and toes slide under the shifter. Now when I start the engine and shift either into first gear with my toes or even upshift from neutral to second gear, the engine immediately dies. Everything I have done is purely mechanical and not electrical. How do I need to proceed to rectify the problem? Thank you for your help!

I'd check your kickstand switch. The bikes are designed to not run if the kickstand is down (to prevent you from riding that way, hitting the kick stand while taking a corner will most likely put you down). There's a chance that you've knocked it out of adjustment when you installed the floor boards.
