ok all i need to know is....is there any universal motorcycle speedometer that will work on my 88 vt600. i saw some cheaper ones but i dont know if there will work on my bike

Pragmatic solution - Add a powerlet and mount a GPS....but I am a function over form kind of guy.....

universal spedos use a magnet and sensor calibrated to wheel size.
you should be able to use any of them.
