Ok, I'm a moron. I just bought the bike last week. I have never had a Shadow before. It is about 20F outside, and I don't want to jepardize my new investment. Help me check the coolant. I just can't find the fill cap.
Thanks,
Russell

Fill cap is behind the passenger foot peg on the right but there is also visible access to the reservoir and it is marked. Just like say the windshield fluid in your car is in a container you can see through...there is a container just behind the trani. Follow the foot brake rod back to where it attaches to the frame, look just inside there you will see it. Mine has markings labeled lower and upper and then there is a pen mark I think the previous owner marked where he liked it to be.

rusted,
Don't feel bad, Honda has hidden everything from you! LOL!

The overflow tank fill is on the right side of the bike above the passenger peg, but you'll need a long skinny hose to reach the coolant. The radiator cap is also on the right side of the bike, hidden under the neck cover. To remove the radiator cap, you'll have to remove the seats and the fuel tank. I'd try to find a long skinny hose! I'm assuming of course, that you're wanting to check the coolant with a hydrometer. There is an overflow tube attached to the reserve tank, it may be capped and hanging below the frame in front of the rear tire. You may be able to drain some coolant from this tube, I'm not sure, I haven't tried.

You can go to: http://www.powersportspro.com and after registering(it's free) go to their parts fiche and look up an exploded view of your bike's coolant system.

Good luck and let us know how you get to the coolant.
