Is there a way to check for leaks around the carbs boots, to insure that they are properly sealed? I have tried to search the forums and couldn't find anything, but may not have typed the search right. Just wanted to make sure everything is sealed properly.

You can spray ether onto them to see if they`re leaking...

While running, spray starting fluid or equivalent onto each to see IF it is leaking...

The engine speed will change IF LEAKING,as ether is introduced into the system...
Good Luck,

I used some silicone spray earlier for similar reasons and waterproofing, would that help?

I wouldn't recommend starter fluid(ether). Try spray carb cleaner or brake cleaner when the bike is running and listen for rpm's to increase. You can also use water in a spray bottle and listen for rpm's to fall when you find a leak.
