So I got the dragoon back after my accident on the 22nd of December last year. Turns out the police reversed the decision and confirmed that I was hit by a driver so that is a relief.

At my request, I had them put on a Memphis Fats 17” windscreen with they red tint. And wow, I had a crowd checking it out while it was in the parking lot at the dealership. I am very happy with the results. :D

They put on new cobras that look great, but sound totally different to what the bike sounded like in the first place  . I have the old pipes so will see if maybe they did something to the baffles because I sure do want that sound back. Any ideas folks? Has anybody done a mod to the cobras that changed any characteristics? :?:

Now the incompetent part. First I called them three times to confirm they were getting my tank with out the shadow emblem because I have some art work that was going to go on this bike. It had emblem when I arrived and they said I could take them off but they would not. Next, they forgot the right foot peg. Kind of an important piece, yup, there’s more, they put the stock risers on it telling me they could not find 4.5 inche risers in chrome that I had before. Help folks, I can’t seem to find them either for the Spirit. I have found lots for other bikes. The closest I have found were at sccotowrks.com but their ‘find print” say that it may require different handlebars. So, I have a call into them to see what they mean by that but if anybody knows where I can get a 1 piece riser 4+ inches and made of chrome, I would be grateful to know where. :!:

Last stupid move is they forgot to order the rear brake light switch for the front brake.

Now I went over all this in detail with them after the first estimate they sent me forgot the tank al together. So I am just stunned.

Nice to have the Dragoon back in the garage, but it will have to return for the final touches as soon as the parts arrive.

Cheers and watch out, I am back in the saddle.

The Phat II 4 inch will work. BUT they will need to notch them out to fit around the speedo. I had them do it and it cost an extra 25.00 I believe. They didnt notch them out enough though but I managed to get them on anyway as I already had sold my stock risers :( They are a very tight fit needless to say but didnt tweak my speedo. I am looking for a slimmer 6inch riser now.

I dont have any close up pics but can take some tomorrow if you like. I can try and get a close up of what the "notched" out part looks like too. I'll try and find just a regular pic tonight and post for ya and hopefully you can see how they look. Also, what Scootworks is talking about on changing handlebars are the ones that have the risers welded on the bars. Our bikes dont. If you go to their website and scroll down on the risers page they also have the classic riser available now. They are 4 inch and look like our stock risers but taller. I'm thinking of calling them and see if they can produce a 6 inch in that style.

So, up have been looking at the 4.5 and 5.5 inch squares with cutouts, and also, the classics 4”x1#.

Have they decided on the date yet, I have to read the thread this morning but it would be great if they decide in a date I can. As for the pipes, the covers are good and I keep them to investigate the sound difference and the covers. But they cant be used again

Not sure anyone would want that.

Cheers all.

Cant get any pics...camera wont work. The batteries wont recharge. Anyway, those other risers on Scootworks site look like they are a much better option than the Phats.

If my pain specialist and my main Dr found out I was riding this soon, they might flip over a car too. I can not take my pain meds before I drive so I am taking baby steps just to get it out of my system. The physio is extensive and I still have pain, BUT, the yearning to ride outweighs that. I am sure I can ride safely or else I would not take the thing for a spin. I drove with a broken clavicle and ribs back in the early 90s for the same reason.

So, I hop, I will return to commuting with the bike.
