She still doesn't know yet that I didn't really need all steel braided cables.

LOL...tsk tsk...you should know by now that it is easier to ask forgiveness than permission.

Just tell her that you got them and take your medicine. You are not tight on money...right?...or you wouldn't have gotten them...right? Besides, your kids really didn't need those braces this year...right?

Tell her you got them for safety reasons. That the more noise the bike makes, the easier it will be for cage drivers to hear you coming.

Don't know what to tell you about the braided cables. Except maybe list the specs on here and let folks bid on them.

I just bought some cool chrome slip on drags for my bike, how do I justify such a purchase to my wife.

Being a Photography Buff, I've learned:

As soon as you get your first Nikon camera, you contract an
incurable Malday. This illness requires you to purchase additional
Nikon gear, like: a new lens that covers wide angle, a new lens that covers the telephoto range, a new flash unit or maybe just a remote release cable...It does not matter what the accessory is, only that
it says "Nikon" on it and that it helps "Complete' your Photographic
Gear... Your... "System".

This Malady is known as NAS, "Nikon Acquisition Syndrome"

It is INCURABLE!

I believe that Honda has a similar affliction that infects owners of their
motorcycles...call it HAS, as in, "Honey, I just HAS to get those pipes for my Baby!"

If that doesn't work, tell her it's like her buying a new pair of shoes.
(but, be prepared to sleep on the couch for a while!)

Install everything a little at a time while she's not at home; she won't know the difference. Just tell her you washed and waxed it!

Unless of course she's a biker..........If she's a biker then you're goose is already cooked. I was hoping she wasn't a biker, many women who don't know bikes can't tell the difference between stock or aftermarket pipes, let alone braided cables.

Crazy Dave , they really did break the mould with you. I just may have to meet you like collector is doing someday. Now for the issue at hand. Just be honest, with your needs.Be it motorcycle parts or what ever the issue. And when she looks at you in disgust and says ""What am I going to do with you" You look her in the eye and honestly say " Just Love Me" Thats all I need you to do. She has her dreams ,wants just like you, encouarge her to fullfill them. Hope they include you :wink: THis all breaks down to I know I'm a **** but I'm worth it. :lol:

Step 1 - For the past several years, buy her flowers for no apparent reason. Also, make sure you do the small things like making sure her vehicle is in top shape, take her shopping for clothes, help clean around the house, etc.

Step 2 - Honey, I'm buying a new seat, paint job, etc. for my bike.
