My name is jay and I have a 2001 vt1100c. was riding home from work and lost all power. no lights no nothing. checked cluch wiring nothing changed main fuse and checked all others. this is a real conundrum as I am vey mechanically inclined and this has me stumped. anyone out there have any ideas as to the problem as I'm at a loss for an explanation. What are voltages, Battery, and charging? When was Run/Stop and Sarter switches cleaned last? Check connection between stator and rectifier for signs of overheating?

Have you checked both battery cables to make sure they are secure (this happened to me)? Is the battery charged up? Also, check the regulator and stator. Good luck.

On my 94 Shadow Lost all my lights but bike stil ran found the solder on one of the Starter Switch contacts had given out. Resoldered the connection and all was fine.
