I was having difficulties starting my 1983 VT750. Once it would finally start it would run just fine. The first thing I did was replace the choke cable which wasn't working properly with Mikuni choke plungers, thanks to Balloonot. Those worked out great but I was still having a problem so I bought a set of Iridium spark plugs and the combination of those 2 things seems to have done the trick. I just went out in 30 degree weather and it fired right up. I was having a problem starting it up even when the engine was warm before.
