Not an idiot, we all learn new stuff. 2 plugs per cylinder is pretty new to most mechanics.
Especially on some models with then buried in the valve cover out of sight.
Hope you have the factory plug wrench if you have the buried ones.

I do have the factory plug socket. Makes the job so easy. Took me all of 5 minutes to replace both of them.

Did'nt you hear them calling ? LOL....
