If you want a good spark, just get a MOSFET r/r and a gel or Lithium Ion battery. That will get you 14+ volts and that will make your headlight brighter and a hotter spark at the plugs. The stock R/R on our Hondas are old school and work like crap. This was one of if not the best mod's I've done to my VT1100-T. Got better gas mileage too because of the hotter spark.
