Not only does it work really well for blocking the sun , it has added more stability to helmet buffeting. The gap acts like a funnel for wind which adds the stability. You do lose around 1/4 of your view in the upperhalf but thats ok for me. Cost was around 14 buxs.

Have you ever tried any of those window tint type strips accross the top of the visor? I've been looking at doing that and was just interested if you could compare.

Thanks, Grampa.
I think I'll stop by one of the local window tint places and see if they have a piece of scrap they'll give me.

Heres what happened to me 2 days ago . I normally wear a HD brand half helmet that I really like . Its got a built in visor so I didn't even think about that before . So 2 days ago its so damn cold wearing the HD and my googles and my ski mask wasn't cutting it . So I broke out my new full face HJC that I bought last summer that I never wore outside of wearing it in the shop to buy it . Put it on and got so much sun in my eyes I went straight to my local parts shop.

There I tried a few things that the owner showed me. I tried a small strip type block ( $5.00) that is about 1.5 inches tall , that wasn't good enough.
The owner then showed me a inner shield liner that was photosensitive , pretty cool but it didnt cover the bottom 2 inches of the shield and was around 24 buxs , the same price as buying the tinted shield replacement for the HJC. So I just bought the tinted shield itself . I went out and drove around and while the tint was great , I still was getting sun into my eyes. So he then showed me this super visor and that did the trick .

I would suggest cutting out some cardboard and going outside with your helmet to see if a small strip type would work or something with more overhang like the super visor .
