GEEZ!

Just got my insurance bill from Intact as I'm sure a few others did and lo and behold up it went another 125 bucks from last year!............when Intact took over two years ago the increase was an automatic 200 bucks!
My total now for a VT500C 1987, is now over 721 $$$.

Never had an accident, took safety course before getting licensed and have almost 10 years in without even dropping the damn thing!

Has anyone found an Insurance Company that isn't corrupt?

I pay half of that for my '98 Valkyrie through Esurance, full coverage plus towing!

The USA is a reasonable place where motorcycle insurance is fair and reasonable......not so here in Canada!

All i can say is GET on the phone and call for quotes, they are not loyal to you so why be loyal to them?

I was with personal and switched to primum for a savings of 175 on bike and 200 on truck

Now if i can only find ins for my log home grrrr that ones a bitch!!

Thanks to all for the suggestions.....I tried TD Bank and they were half of what Intact was!!!!..............Intact has some nerve to double rates in just two years......and about a log home...............They are a bit hard to get insured but Co-operators did a good job for me. They actually had a log home appraiser come in and I found out the Insurer I had before I switched to Co-operators had me appraised at about a 1/4 of what it was really worth!!!!

Soon as i say i heat with wood they no longer want to insure me.

I disagree. Riders Plus are thieves. I am 50 yrs old. Been riding over 30 yrs. My first year with them for my Sabre was $800 all in. The following year (I think 3 yrs ago) it went up $300. I am claim free, ticket free etc. I'm with TD now. $600 all in.

I also disagree. I went with them a number of years ago because the rate was so good. Now it has more than doubled for no reason. I will be making phone calls to get a new insurance company.

Yepper..I have a wood electric furnace and I'm going through a bit of an upgrade to my duct work and insulation above the furnace so it meets the W.E.T. regs..............the fire retardant insulation above the furnace must be approx. 6" below the floor joists so that air can circulate through the open space and keep it from building up too much heat...........that's about all that the risk manager told me to do to meet code.............don't let them make up stuff on the go...........get wood fired regulations and get informed before the inspector comes in......................they are trying hard to not insure wood fired homes all in the name of being "green".................they are nothing but socialist idiots!

I think, you get hit with price increases no matter who you are with.
I also switched to TD/Primmum, as I found for my bike and myself, they were the cheapest.

However, it's not just how much you pay, but how well it goes, if you actually have to use your insurance, like I had to, last year, when someone totalled my last bike (ran a stop sign).

I found TD, handled the claim well, with one exception...I had to dicker back and forth with them, quite a bit, for them to offer a reasonable replacment value for the bike. They really tried to low-ball on the replacement cost. I'm sure they all do that though.

I contacted meloche monnex for a quote and came away with same/ very similar coverage for almost $500 a year less. I am with Echelon insurance through Riders Plus brokerage. Surprised the heck out of me. With adding car and house, I get a multiple policy discount. That's my experience.

I believe it is much more expensive for registration in Quebec. It's under $100/yr to renew a plate sticker. I forget the actual price, $80/yr maybe?

560$ a year for a cruiser and about 1200$ for a sports bike. :twisted: Evens out I guess
