Just renewed it online as I usually do & it costs $42.50 to renew in NY. Just wondering, what's the cost in other states?

If it is kept current, the cost is a lot less than if I remove the tag, then reinstate it...
Penalty is bad news here...
I keep tags on vehicles that sit for a spell rather than pull it and reinstate it...

In Nova Scotia it $44.50 each year, all bikes expire on December 31, regardless of when you pay the fee through their year.

My wife's car is FREE , cause I put my Volunteer Fire Fighter plates on that, but my truck is like 185.00 every other year, four wheeled veh register for two years at a time.

Do you have a custom plate on your Bike? I just renewed mine here in NY as well, and it cost the same $17.50 it always does? I would definitely check into why yours is so high.

Heck, my insurance is only $96 a year!

I paid $17.50 in NY as well. I believe there's a fairly large radius around NYC where there is a surcharge. I have friends downstate who pay much more for their bike reg.

$20 bucks in Massachusetts. Excise tax is about another $20 bucks but that wont be due till next year.

Around $45 here in Indiana on the VLX, the Rebel is a few dollars less. They go by the first letter in your last name when your plates are due here in Indiana. Mine starts with H so mine are due next month.

Haven't renewed the registration on the Suzuki yet. The initial cost was $166.61. The Shadow was $30ish.
