Thinking ahead to spring and I think that I would like to have a leather vest. What brand/brands have you folks had good luck with?

Wife got me a really nice Interstate Leather vest with a CC pocket. They make some cheap ones also.

have you had any issues with the cc pockets on the vest? Would the pistol be held correctly if it was the size of a colt 1991 .45 cal? or would something smaller like Rugger LCR be more reasonable for the pockets?

My Glock 17 fits, but I think it's noticeable that something is in there.

Having worn leather vests for years, I would say they get REALLY hot in the summer, especially when they're black. I now wear tan leathers, and it makes a HUGE difference, but I think if I needed to get another vest, I'd go with cloth, probably denim. You can get them at Sportsman's Guide fairly cheap, and they're good quality, even their own 'Guide Gear' brand. You can even have your name embroidered on them above the chest pocket.

Maybe you look like a douchebag because you don't have a vest?! Thought of that!

I like the look and when it's at a point where its not cold enough to wear a jacket but still feel a little chilly when you ride, the fest is nice.
Also, by adding the vest overtop your jacket helps keep a little warmer during the colder months before putting on heated gear.
Plus, I like to look of the vest and that I can put patches of clubs Im part of and places I've gone

Plus, Makes me look bad ass and cool

I like the look of a cut, just no point in me ever wearing one, as I'm one of those All The Gear All The Time Douchebags.

I used to be an ATGATT douchebag, but now I'm just a douchebag.

I gear up as long as I can take it, but when it's too hot I will ride in a t shirt and not apologize for it. It just feels so much better. And yes, I realize that being hot feels better than road rash, but it's a risk/reward thing for me.

I'll be honest though: if it's REALLY hot I'll be in my cage enjoying my AC.

For the record I could've chosen my words a little more wisely. I wasn't trying to be a d!ck, I didn't know people actually wore "cuts".

But to be fair, I didn't call anyone a douchebag, I just said that they had a chance to look like one.
