I changed the turn signal bulbs the tower day and noticed that they're dual filament. Why is it that they all do not light up when everything's running? Only the front ones do. I would think that with dual filaments they would all run lit and signal when selected. Maybe there's something up with my bike, or it's the medication messing with my brain.

On my 83 750, there are three wires to the front turn signals and two wires to the rear. The front ones are dual filament for running lights and turn lights. The rear are 1 filament, turn only.
I believe it is because you can have yellow lights on in front and not in rear except for turn signalling.
Just like on cars. =
No yellow light in the rear showing except for when signalling.
Maybe yours is wired the same.

Sorry I wrote this a bit confusing. All I wanted to say was Yellow in front, and red in rear, except for Turn signal.

Because the Feds made it that way. Amber are side clearance lights that can remain on @ all times. Used as turn signals, flashing only just like cars etc. If you you have dual filaments in the rear, somebody goofed. The front needs dual filaments. Also the duals in the rear may not be as bright as a single filament.

Should be dual filament in front and single filament in rear. You can get a mod to make the rears run/turn/brake but then your lenses need to be red (which you can also buy or make with a special paint).

Ah. That makes sense. I just replaced what was there. I have the same bulbs in the rear as I do in the front. No wonder the rear turn signals aren't that bright.

It had the stubby dual filaments in them with the offset pins on the outside. Very weird.
