Hey all, it's been a while since I rode my bike.

Long story short, I can't find my keys. I may have accidentally sold them with one of my other bikes.

What's the best, and easiest, way to get a new key cut? There's codes somewhere, right? Can it be done from the VIN?

Thanks.

Fudge!

Oh well, I pulled my ignition switch.

I forgot how easy it is on bikes. Especially older bikes (86).

Write that code down somewhere handy. I put mine on the registration since I have to carry it with me. Each year I copy it over to the new one before sticking it in my wallet. Magical thinking leads me to believe this might even prevent me from ever losing my keys. :smile2:

A locksmith can make new keys. They measure the depth of the pins and cut the blank.

They can even change the pins and re-key the lock. (I had one of the kits for doing that some years back. Might still have it. Would have to remember where I put it to know for sure.)
