I need help with my 2007 Sabre either with a very detailed video or detailed instructions on. How to go about lubricating my cables.

My throttle does not quite snap back fast, rather its slow to return but it does so on its own. Assumingnit should be more snappy but correct me. So for winter maintenance I figured I would try and lube them up.



Is there anything I need to do with the throttle grip to also make it snap back?

Sounds like the cable is binding or more likely a bad spring down at the carb. Typically the cables don't require cable lube and I have never done mine.

My old 1983 had stiff cables, so I took them loose up at the bars and dripped ATF down the inner cable and worked it in. There are cable lubes also. Even a special tool to pump it in.

So repair the spring or replace entire? I may ask my local honda dealer to fix for assurance

Lube your cables first. Motion Pro makes an oiler used with an arisol can.

Go to the throttle drum where the cables connect, and work it by hand then you know if it has a problem also.

The throttle sleeve needs lube also...
