Major oil leak rear valve cover nut

2002 Vt1100 starts pouring oil about 3- 5 seconds after starting with a heavy flow from the middle rear nut on the valve cover. Please help

Looks like you may need a new gasket.

You have small covers on top also that may be leaking and would be an easy fix.
And some of the bolts have rubber grommets where they seal .
You need to clean it well and watch for the source.

And I believe Honda just calls for gasket sealer on that entire surface. Don’t know if you can get those valve covers off of yours without pulling the engine… This job can open up a whole can of worms, so get the factory manual from here, if you haven’t already, and do it by the book for the hydraulic tappets and setting the cam lifter assemblies. Many mechanics go wrong here…
