Motrcycle Swap Meet - What not to do
Stopped off at the bike motorcycle swap meet in the area today. Thought it was gonna be a good day. Hold on - let me back up and list the day chronologically in the order I made the mistakes:
Mistake #1: I should have just went to work at 1:00 instead of allowing myself more time at the swap meet
Mistake #2: Why did i choose to take my wife's new Impala rather than my POS Jimmy - oh yeah, the Jimmy is a POS....
Mistake #3: Never, ever, ever bring my dad and my wife to the same event. Sure they get along real well, but both bring out different side of me.
Mistake #4: Refer back to mistake #2 - I now have to fit a mini-bike into the trunk of an Impala. Oh, sure, it's big and deep enough, but getting it in there now means I have some scratches to take care of on the bumper.
Mistake #5: Apparently, "The kid's don't need a mini-bike" means "I don't want them to have a mini-bike". This, I now know to be true.
After the blowout with my wife - (Once I finally realized she was upset over the buying of the bike, not the gouge out of her bumper like she said was the problem) - I was able to go do a job that turned out to be not only a very delightful job, but also a very nice 40 mile road trip on the bike in 70+ degree weather, so all was not lost.
Now, what to do about the mini-bike... :?

Bought my current bike after my wife said"If you want to go talk to the bank about a loan go ahead". Knowing full well I hate asking for $. Well I had E-mailed a Dealer a few times about the VTX I now own. Without so much as a responds. So when I called to bitch them out they said Honda has great Programs just give me your info. Long story short If you have ever seen the ad for the sportbike that says loving wife saying"Do whatever the [email protected]@k you want" is not premission to make a purchase. While it is not my story to a T. It is fairly close accept She booked my flight 2000miles away to go get my new bike.

i'll keep that in mind, but I think I'm gonna just wait fot things to cool down a bit. I got to get in a couple of rational words late last night and reminded my wife of the conversation we had several months ago about getting something like this. I guess she was all for it when it was just talk, but now is fearing for her kids' safety like every parent out there. To her credit, both kids are very respectful of the awesome power - or what they feel is awesome power :wink: - of this contraption. Both were excited to try it, neither would do it after getting all the safety gear on. We'll just give them some more time. I certainly don't want to push them inot it if they're not ready.
