I road my bike to work today as usual but I had a, well I can't even think what I'd want to call him, person in a truck that I have seen in the neibor hood many times but the windows are dark so I couldn't see the driver. Anyway his brake lights are out and he slams on the brakes rich in front of me and comes to a stop then puts his turn signal on. I had to hit my brakes hard and I skid straight as can be and came to a stop about 10 feet behind him, praise God I didn't dump the bike, it was like I knew what I was doing but hadn't practiced that type of stop in over 20 years! He then floors it and takes off and puts his blinker on again and this time turns into someone's driveway. In the mean time someone else is backing out of the same driveway but I can't see the car because of this truck. This guy, I think, dark windows, bakes into the highway in my lane facing me instead of going to the other side in the direction he is going to go, I hit the bakes again. This time no skid, I was going slower because of what the truck did. The car sits there 10 feet in front of me facing me and not moving. I'm not going to try and go around because he may take off and hit me. So I sit and put my hand up like what's up, go. He takes off very slow and gets within 1 foot of me while heading into the proper lane. I see who's all parked in the driveway and know that I don't want to stop and say anything so I just hit the gas and get to work and let the Marshall I work with know what happened and of course everyone is gone by the time I go back by in the work truck and the Marshall can't talk to anyone about what was going on.
Anyway scared me and even though I keep a lot of distance behind people I will keep even more distance now. You just never know what crazy drugged up drunks are going to do. Yes I know most of the group that was in the driveway so I can make that statement as truth.

Just a good lesson for all, keep a good following distance to be able to have time to respond even when you are near home and think its safe, don't let your guard down.
