Thanks guys.
It was a much longer process than I should have let it become.
Gray skies and cold temps just killed my spirit over the winter.

The first warm day of this year, I found myself working on the bike instead of riding it like I should have been. Oh well... I enjoyed working on it too.

A little fabricating and patience and all worked out!
Just waiting for new locks to arrive. The fellow I bought these from couldn't find the keys. :(

Now the weather has turned cooler again. Won't be riding it to work just yet. Too cold in the mornings for this *******.

I cant see pics, what bags did you install? I have found some 1/2 oval and big square ones on ebay last week, about $60 a pair. I just recently put a fairing on mine and it was mistook for a Harley yesterday. LOL

In the 1st pic, I see some supports low down on the bag. They look like they are mounted to the fender. Can you tell me more please? The bags look great!
Thank you!

Yes... The supports. I made those.

Those are merely stand-offs to stabilize the bags.
Simple aluminum posts with rubber tips. They are drilled and tapped on one end and held to the bag with a small bolt from inside the bag. Not mounted to the fender at all. Just resting against it.

I had a guy in Canada show me how his similar bags were mounted. He actually has real Harley bags and Harley mounts on his Shadow. They come on a certain model (I can't remember which model) that doesn't utilize the bar underneath the bag like most Harleys. It's held in place at the top at two points and rather than have the support bar below; they use a chrome bracket/rubber bushing thingy. It just allows the bag to press against the fender and prevent it from sagging.

My bags are mounted with EZ Brackets up top. I had to make a plate for the back of the bag to mount the EZ Bracket to. The contour of the back of the bag isn't flat. The plate goes down the back of the bag pretty low. They are almost stable enough with just the EZ Brackets. So the stand-off at the bottom just keeps them from wiggling. The stand-offs are mounted on that plate through the wall of the bag.

They are super stable and I can remove them with the turn of a key.
