04 VTX 1300 c I lifted up on the gas tank to fasten a vacum line and as i lfted the foward part of the tank this piece fell to the floor. i didnt get to see if or what it was attached to. Im hoping its just a forein part that fell out of p.o pocket. But if it belongs i shure wana know.

It's not a foreign part. It's a spacer, you need to figure out where it goes.

Check out the parts fiche for your bike and you will see where the spacer goes...it's part #12 of the fuel tank.

Not saying that it is indeed the same, but that looks almost identical to the spacer for the gas tank mounting bolt(by the seat) on my '03 Spirit 750. I'll grab a picture later if you need, but check that.

Yeah interesting. Looking closer Picture #1 does indeed look like one end is solid. But then again picture #3 looks like its hollow again.

Its hollow i got a key ring thru it.

XCLM, i think you might have mixed me up with the OP: Cisco. He is on an '04 VTX 1300C

It is in fact the spacer that the tank mounting bolt goes through. Just push it back into the rubber grommet and remount the tank. This part gets a lot of people. Its boggled me once.

It's the knibley pin bushing. It holds the muffler bearing in place. Make sure not to forget to put it in when you reassemble the bike.
