Hello everyone, my names Adam, and i'm new to this site..i've got a 1988 VLX 600 that im trying to get back out on the road at the moment. At the moment, my bike will idle great, but as soon as i drop it into gear and take off it sounds like it is running on one cylinder (rear) and it is misfiring badly...i replaced a bad plug wire and resistor cap on the front left cylinder but that didn't seem to help it...is it possible that i have a bad ignition coil on the front cylinder??

Any help would be greatly appreciated

It could be the carbs. Wifes Spirit did the same thing. Had the carbs cleaned and it is just fine!

Welcome to the forums.

I agree with Coop, clean out your carbs. Also, make sure they are sync'ed up properly. I had a problem where my rear cylinder wouldn't fire at idle but ran good with throttle, took me almost 2 months to figure out (dealer and local shop failed to figure it out too).

Good luck and show us your ride!!!
