My '95 VT1100c has only 35000 mi and runs strong. I like it but had to make some changes. A previous owner put shorty drag pipes on it and the pipes are very blue 2/3 of the way down. I wrapped them with heat tape but my question is, should they get that hot and discolor that much?

Yes and yes. The reason they blue is because they are usually single wall.
