Hello all Shadow Riders,

I have a new interest in life, a 1987 VT1100 C Shadow which arrived to me via a friend. This bike looks good for its age, the paint has a few chips here and there and I'm planning to give it a nice paint once I get it fixed. I live in Phoenix, AZ, where there's always a good time to ride.

I see there are some freebie service manuals as a 'sticky' and was wondering if there is a free service manual for the above.

Other than that, a question about how to make the glass in the headlight clearer, it seems a bit milky, especially visible when the light is on. I assume it's just a simple Windex cleaning job but I wonder if the glass itself comes off (I have not tried it).

Many thanks for numerous tips I've read along in this Forum, I plan to stick around and learn more.

Best to you all.

Dimitri

 Welcome! First we need a picture of the bike. Annnnnd because you are lucky enough to come on board at this particular time...a picture of you on the "Post your mug" thread. And just so you know the rules...No pictures of women with big "jugs." No liberals, atheist, no hippies, commies, socialist, no pot smoking, language(bad), name calling(unless the person you're calling a name isn't like you), no smoking, drinking, no car tires, helmets and full gear required, and your garage better be spotless. Oh...and clean shaven, no tattoos or piercings. If we can tell by your picture that you are a white far right leaning male Republican who is devoutly religious(Christian)...we'll consider your questions. :-D

Welcome to the forum. Lots of nice people here (and a few old grouches). Kindly post up a photo of your new ride when you can. We like photos of bikes and archery here.

We trudge on.

Thank y'all for the warm and 'cautionary' welcomes!

Sorry I couldn't reply sooner, my 'puter was on the fritz yesterday, today seems fine...

Yeah, I will produce a picture of the '87 Honda, is pretty much stock, even has the original yellow sparkplugs wires. It needs a little TLC right now and I'm working on it, shouldn't take me too long.

My 'other' bike belongs to my 'other' half, she rides a Harley, although it's a Sportster. I welcomed the new addition as I want to take longer rides during the upcoming Summer. More details to follow...

As for other interests, I do a lot of Photography and collect very rare cameras. Used to own a coffee shop in town, hence I know my coffees...

That'd be it for now... I'll work on the bike and photos.

TY Lonnie and beatswalkin!

In regards to the 1987 VT 1100 repair manual, I did manage to d'load from Carl Salter's website, it's the Haynes version (but it was free...;-)) and it'll do for now. I am printing it as we speak. If need be, I can upload the manual to one of the admins so it can be stickied.
