Hello folks:

On Saturday, January 27 I rode up to Clarkesville (Mark of the Potter on Hwy 197), Sautee (nice little coffee shop at 255 & 17), Unicoi, Helen, then across the Richard B. Russell Scenic Parkway (brrrrr).

At each stop I added another layer and was pretty comfortable in the 40 and 50 degree air.

This was a nice 240 mile, 6.5 hour, “therapy” ride for me.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Take care…

Very nice photos and must have been a nice ride.

I don't think I could go that far at that temp. My Florida blood is too thin for that.

Those tank decals gotta go, though... ;)
No kidding!

On my list, I think I even know how:
hair dryer
remove decals
wd 40
remove gum
lemon pledge
add shine

Just gotta work that in...

Ahh, yes, the view from the back porch of "Mark of the Potter".

When you look down, there is a large pool that is just slap full of trout - no fishing though - which is for the best, because they probably taste like Purina Trout Food...

Sure you could!

All you need is:
gore tex pants
tourmaster jacket with liner
good gloves
windshied
full face helmet with shield
too many days since last ride
a good dose of stress

and you are good to go...

I'm hoping to ride the dragon and the Cherohala (as well as Wayah Bald Road) this May.

Graet pics. I hiked the AT thru Hog Pen Gap in 1999 so I know exactly where you were. BTW, the slide show did not work with my Firefox browser. Had to use Internet Exploder.
