Remember all those "80's hair metal" bands? There was a band in the late 80's that, sadly, was a little too late and never achieved the success that they should have. Early 90's "grunge" bands (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, etc...) hit the scene and that was it for 80's "hair metal".

Check out this guy's vocals from the band Steelheart! OMG....

There is no way in h.e.l.l. I could do what this guy did. NO WAY!!! I can't sing rock/hard rock/metal, as I ended up with a deep Johnny Cash type of voice. I can actually sing the main chorus of the tune Angel Eyes (I'll Never Let You Go) 2 complete octaves below the lead singers range!

Tell me about it...

I just grabbed my Fender Strat (acoustically, no amp...) and started fumbling with this song as the video played.

It's in the key of C# (whether or not they "pitch shifted" it up a 1/2 step in the studio, I don't know).
verses: C#, F#, B, C#
chorus: C#, G#, F#, C#

At 3:22 and at the very end 4:31 in the video, the lead singer hits an ear shattering, upper high G# --- 2 octaves above middle C!!!!
