Keep the posts going on what you get up to. I got a VT500 this summer of some winter fun. Mine was in a rough condition but came up good - although the timing chain needs replacing and this needs the engine out. The main problem I had was getting fork parts for the 83 - not many spares in the uk. Good luck and take lots of photos for the forum. I changed the bars which helps with the riding, your G/F might want the seat lowing - reduce foam on seat or change the shocks for smaller.
