Yes, i had a 200 but it was too pinched even with the 4.5" VTX rim. The 170 fits nicely on it and wide on the 4.5" rim.

have you measured minimum clearance inside the fender, brake rod, drivetrain, and swing arm?

I think 180mm wide will work, but on the aeros even a 170 is a TIGHT squeeze because of the frame.

was actually looking to get taller, not wider, my bad put the 170 # there, seems there is room to go taller, if I can find a taller tire
I have gone up one size taller on the front and rear tire with no issues.
i did it for the clearance since i lean into corners hard and was scraping my pegs this cured it. I have not noticed a change in my rpm's although i do not have a tach..

A 190 will fit on a Spirit subframe which should be the same width as an ACE. That is, if a 190 is exactly 190mm wide.

The 170/80 is probably the tallest you'll find for the 15in wheel you have. You'd have to go to a bigger wheel to get any taller.

And going from a 160/80-15 to a 170/80-15 and the RPM difference is minuscule, although slightly noticeable but it had almost no effect on fuel consumption, except for it takes more fuel in town to get the heavier tire moving.
