I need to remove the bolts holding the clutch bracket on the handlebar of my 06 SS750 to install a RAM Mounting accessory. How much torque should be applied to break the factory lock tite loose? I fear snapping the bolt off or stripping the hex bolt. Should I use a regular hex head allen wrench or purchase a 5mm hex head socket?

All the bolts and screws on these bikes are METRIC!
So if your going to be working much at all on the bike then this is as good as place (time) as any to start picking up some metric tools.

I've got the metric wrenches, sockets and allen wrench set. The problem is that the allen wrench is not long enough to give me the required torque to break the bolts loose. Therefore I went to Sears today and bought a set of allen sockets to see if i can get the leverage needed with a rachet. If that does not work it will be time to get the 1/2" drive breaker bar out. I know I can get enough torque to either break it loose, snap the bolt or round out the bolt head.
