Is there a mod out there for the 95-99 1100 ACEs to remove the choke cable? It's the only one the shop couldn't get steel braided, and I'd like to see if there's something readily available before rigging something up.

Does anyone know of where I could find a short cable and knob to do this. I too am also planning on going stainless steel lines. Is there a stock honda hand control that doesnt have the choke lever on it.

Also, which brand of cables do you guys prefer. I've found Barnett and Motion Pro, the Barnett's are more expensive, but is quality better? Also the only brake lines I have found are Goodridge and Russel, same deal with them, Russels are cheaper, any quality difference?

I have motion pro cables and love them! I got russel brake lines and they are good to, the ss version is a little dull though for the brake line but not to noticeable.

I am doing just the opposite.
I'm moving the choke up to my handle bars.

The VLX has the choke down on the left side of the bike.

I bought a choke cable and throttle lever from an ACE and
I'm just going to swap them out.

When you remove the lever, there is a plastic ring that goes in the switch
housing where the lever goes.
You should be able to buy that plastic ring from any late model Shadow
and put in your switch housing.
