I'm looking for advice or a game plan to follow from start to finish. it's a 2003 honda shadow 750. It doesn't run. It had an engine problem. The bike hasn't run in years. I would love some insight on where to start and possibly a road map to follow. I want to do some of the work. thank you..

First does the engine turn?
Is the engine problem resolved?
Pull the spark plugs and clean or replace.
Then how about a compression test.
Make sure of the oil and coolant levels.
Jump the battery with a non running car battery to have enough crank and ignition power for testing.
Key on and kill switch set to run=Try to start it- maybe using a little carb spray or starting fluid.

But see what condition it is in.
Rotate it and see if it has compression.
Maybe it is a good parts engine if most of it is usable.
How is the rest of it? The frame and major parts.
No accident damage or bad rust?
If it is junk forget the engine.
