I've been wearing a pair of Caterpillar work boots for riding. I bought them 3 yrs ago.

I had a pair of Xelement boots that I liked until the zipper pulled out of them. Now I just wear my work boots (I find Timberlands to be comfortable).

Couple years ago went to a Big 5 Sport store and bought a pair of Coleman waterproof boots (brown), very comfortable and have been quite happy with them as I only paid $ 39.99 for them

They always seem to go on sale and I really like them

I've bought Bilt products in the past and I think they get a bad rap. I've had a leather jacket that I really liked and a pair of gloves. Both held up well. Is it like buying Dainese? No, but it really isn't as bad as people make it out to be. In fact I went down in that built jacket and it saved my skin. Can't complain.

I got the Harley-Davidson Men's Hustin Boots few years ago at $110 but now they are $180 not sure if I would spend that much. Boots are very comfortable and great for riding.

I try to buy American made when possible. I saw Sears Craftsman work boots were made in America, I think they will replace the Caterpillar boots when they wear out.

Just curious, but why American boots? Are they wider?

I got a pair of Brahma boots at Walmart, which are waterproof and steel-toed for only $33, and they've done well, so far. Wear them every day, and have had them for about 6 months already. No complaints. They're more comfortable walking around in than other 'bike boots' I've had, including the new HD pair a friend gave me since someone gave them to him but they wouldn't fit (too small -size 9). I pretty much wore the HD ones out, though, until the nails from the heel started coming up through the insole inside and poking my heel. By then, though, you couldn't even tell there had been a bar & shield on the sole anymore. They lasted a couple years, though I just can't see paying hundreds of $ for boots.
