My bike and I spent 6 months on the Oregon Coast. The surf, crashing up against the cliffs, caused the salt water to atomize. That salt was all over everything; it rained almost daily and that salty water from the road absolutely covered the bike. Rust popped up everywhere. Since I've moved back to Portland I've flushed all that salt off as best I can, but the rust remains and a great deal of it is in spots that don't really allow for scrubbing away. Do you know of a product that can be sprayed on the rust to stop/perhaps reverse that process? The rust is only on chrome pieces (like where the mirror stems meet and join the mirror. Well, that will be cheap and easy. I suspect I'll be able to limit the area blackened if I just dab it on with a q-tip. Tell me though, it rains pretty regularly in Portland; do you suspect I'll be fighting the same rusted areas over and over again as the vinegared area gets washed off? ThanksTried and true results...
Vinegar with stop rust "in its tracks", however the end product is blackened components, insteadda rust...
Black is better`n rust, in my opinion
Polishing will restore metal color as suggested

You can imagine the transition issues I've had after my last 40 years riding in AZ.
