I am installing apes on my bike and i have the Barons Customs Kong Bar....My stock handlebar controls don't fit the bike due to the guide pin inside the controls, Does anyone know if I grind this off will it affect the stability of my controls?

AKM,

Those pins are used to locate the controls on the stock handlebar, they do not affect the stability of your controls in any way. (I'd guess they're there to make it easier on the assembly line to get every bike's controls located in the same position.) The bar clamps alone hold the controls where you put them. Grinding them off won't affect your controls at all and that's much easier than locating and drilling a hole in each side of your new apes! Grind away!

There shouldn't be any issues in handling if you grind off the little tabs. Or you can always drill a small hole in your new bars to once you get the controls where you want them.

I HAVE grinded thoes little tabs off with the dremel tool when I changed my handle bars. No diff. you will be just fine :wink:
