Bike has been in the shop since Monday but they still haven't looked at it, said maybe they'll get to it tomorrow. Anyone works on bikes at home or know a good place in Chicago west burbs?

I'm sure they are busy right now. It's first come first serve usually with mechanics. You would be pissed if they put yours off to fix someone's that came in after you, goes both ways.

Hope they get you back on it soon.

That's why I do 90% of my own work. Next time the valve adjustment comes due, it is going to the shop. Last time I ****** it up so bad that it had to go to the shop anyway.

I have used Arlington Motorsports on Northwest hwy in Arlington Heights before but it's been a few years. Gary in service is good guy and the labor rates were cheaper then dealerships but like I said I haven't been in there for a few years and things may have changed.

Don't feel bad. I do most of my own maintenance too, but I've just never gotten around to doing my own valve adjustments. The mere thought of screwing it up...badly...just freaks me out a bit. Dunno why. I know how to do it, I have the tools, but I just don't trust myself that I won't somehow screw it up.

It's my Waterloo.

Scaredofmyownshadow & RaiderBill - I understand that and that's why I was ok with it when they originally said Wednesday. Now I called back and they said maybe Friday. I'm wondering if they thought that I don't need it until the weekend.

Could be, I told my mechanic today that I needed my bike for this weekend and that's why he's picking it up tomorrow morning, but here in Fla. we ride year around so he doesn't have a real busy time of year, he's just good so he stays busy year around. I wish you all could see all the old bikes he has in the shop that he is restoring now.
