They work fine. Used to use them for race bikes. But on street bikes, where I'm bleeding once a year or so, a vacuum bleeder works best. Mainly because a speed bleeder doesn't do squat for getting the air, that is trapped in the Banjos.

A word of explanation to you. Had a serious back injury. A year ago, I couldn't walk. Real happy to be back on two wheels. Maybe that will explain why my posts tend toward the personal. Still like to wrench a little, but I like to keep it as easy as possible.

Get a motorcycle lift. Real nice working on the bike, when you don't have to bend over. Best thing for a biker with a bad back. Well, next to a drivers backrest or 36D massage.
