What are the benefits of leather lever covers?

Are there any other than bling factor?

i would imagine they don't get hot in the sun and cold in the wind....(for the hardcore guys that don't wear gloves)

As far as i can see none. The leather isn,t as slick when it gets wet[by rain or sweat]. I just like the way it looks and feels.when this st wears out i'll buy another set.. What can i say i like them.Now leather grip thats another story. they make the grip larger..And with someone with big hands that has arthoritis .ther a must. My hands dont get as tired on long rides.Dude...hope this helps.

if the brake levers are aluminum and you don't wear gloves, your fingers will get blackened from the aluminum. they look good too and protect the metal. as for the fringed ones, i don't get it.
