I just remembered that Turner Classic Movies will be airing Lawrence of Arabia this coming Tuesday night. The film begins with Lawrence riding his 1935 Brough Superior motorcycle. He owned three of them through the years. In England the Brough was known as the Rolls-Royce of motorcycles. Henry Royce admired the machines so much that he did not object to the comparison. Mr. Royce died in 1933, Mr. Lawrence died two years later While riding his Brough Superior. The movie also has some fine armored cars of the first world war.
