I have been married for 26+ years. It is absolutely amazing how Connie can still take my breath away when I look at her, and how she can surprise me with her generosity.
Yesterday after I got home from work, she told me to get into the truck and we were going out. She drove, which was surprising, in itself. As we droned along, I kept thinking of destinations SHE wanted to go to; Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Lowes, Sam's Club..... Nope! She pulls into the local mall and outside of Sears. We go inside their side entrance that leads directly to their tool dept. In the middle of the tools, a salesman spots her and quips "Ah, welcome back Ma'am!" Now I'm in "WTF?" mode. Connie strides up to one particular aisle, stops, and says "Choose something here."
It was the tool chest aisle. I now have a brand new, Craftsman roller bearing equipped set of tool chests to hold all my tools! I even managed to slip in some SAE "inch" wrenches into the deal.
In the 70's there was a commercial that had a jingle that went; "My wife....I think I'll keep her."
I think I shall.....
