I bought the 1998 Shadow Spirit vt1100c,last summer & was wanting to install the iridium plugs before the riding season in done.
I bought the DPR8EIX-9 as suggested from the NGK website & the connectors don't fit on the plugs.
Here's my question: Do you have to replace the OEM plug connectors to accommodate the iridium plugs or do I have to stick with the standard DPR7EA-9?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

you may need to unscrew the tip so the wire will fit onto the threds

I had no trouble with mine.

I think this is what you're talking about (pics below). The female end on the iridium is just a thread-on adapter. Grab gently with pliers and unthread it.
