Hi everyone.
I took advantage of the great weather yesterday to winterize my 2004 Shadow Aero 750. When I filled up the tank, I noticed that the gas level kept dropping to about 3” from the opening. I couldn’t fill it to the brim.

I am wondering if this is normal, if there is an overflow valve of some kind? I didn’t notice any leaks or fuel on the ground. My question is, should I keep trying to top it off or have I reached the limit?

Thanks!

sage

Ok, after posting, I saw this had been answered already.

cheers,

sage

If you poke a hole in the tank tube it’ll equalize faster. Don’t fill it up to the top or it’ll block the vent hose and stall the engine

It`s an 11+ miles trip to home from the gas pumps & I ain`t had this problem, not once...

We RIDE!
SO > I gotta get as much fuel in there as I possibly can!!
I switched to RES @ 140 miles today, and filled it as full as I could,
Dennis
3.5 gallons 152 miles = 50MPGs :D
