2001 VLX will not run unless choke is on.

2001 Honda VLX 600 Vtwin - single carb.
Will not run with choke off. Only way it runs is on full choke and runs crappy there as well. The only way it runs with the choke off is if you get the RPMs up with the choke on, hold the RPM and then push in the choke. If the RPMs drop - it stalls.
I took the carb apart - cleaned it - removed main jet and needle and accell pump - cleaned that too.

Any Ideas?

Check the intake boot make sure it is seated properly on both ends - sounds like a huge vacuum leak assuming all jets are clean and air fuel mix is set correctly.

My guess would be a jet blockage in the pilot jet
