Greetings all
I have a 1999 vt1100 that has the hole saw mod with K&n air filter. stock jets are 178# and 42# Was thinking of going to 180# main with a 45# pilot jet size. Have any of you done this and what was the outcome.
Thanks.

Nah, nobody has ever done it. Do it and report your findings so that the world may know.

But seriously, unless it runs like crap just leave the carbs alone.

Ha! Well, he has a point. If you start running hot (whitish plugs, popping on decel, exhaust starting to discolour) changing the jets up is a thing to do. Heck, they don’t cost much, so buy them and throw them in, then adjust. Running richer is usually ‘smoother’. If you take note of the adjustment screw positions, you can always reverse the changes.

Two questions: how is the engine running now? Whats your mechanical knowledge and ability?
