On my old Aero 1100 the gearing seemed to favor shifting early. 25mph and in 3rd gear was not straining the engine. On the VTX1300 I am finding that 2nd gear is my "town" gear, 3rd and 4th are my "back roads" gears, and 5th is only for highway speeds. I use 3rd gear w/o starining the engine up to 50mph indicated speed. Anyone else notice this?
