I'm going to do the hole saw mod but not sure what size I need.

There is a baffle plate in the hole at 6 oclock,I drilled through it too and that made it much deeper.

Looks like I'd need a much longer drill bit to get to that baffle plate.

I was able to do the whole job using bits that were only 5" long. I started with a center punch to mark the holes,followed by a 1/4" bit as a pilot and finished with a 1/2" bit.
